Could this oil spill knacker the Gulf Stream?
Seriously, does anyone know?

No. Not even remotely possible.
The gulf stream is (depending upon where you measure it) between 30 million and 150 million cubic metres per second.
Yes, per second in flow.
Even at the very worst estimates the oil spill is 50,000 barrels a day. A barrel's not far off a tonne or a cubic metre (right order of magnitude anyway). Or half a cubic metre per second.
The oil is less than one 60 millionth of the water flow.
No, not possible to have an effect at all.
Thanks, Tim.
