On February 5 2006, Mr. Ahmad desecrated a Mass. Given the fulsomeness of the tributes currently being paid to him, it seems only appropriate to append that footnote to his eulogies.

For my part the reference in my comments to repeated effort was in respect continued attempts at getting past the word verification test, and the subsequent frustration at the uncertainty of success. Obviously it can now be confirmed to have been failure or we would be on comment 10 by now.

There are many, many reasons why Scotland's Catholics form such a bulwark of the Union. This is one of them.

What is it then about this incident that is such an example of why Catholics allegedly form a bulwark vote for the union.
