Foreign Criminals Of The Day, Part I - Who's The Daddy?

Looking back through The Black Museum, I find myself slightly shocked that this entrant hasn't appeared before.
The archetypal 'Foreign Criminal Of The Day' should, of course, be Abdelbastar - sorry, it's a reflex - Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber.
Al-Jaqhsi has been living at the British taxpayer's expense for the last six years; which, I suppose, is proof, were any needed, of our remarkable tolerance - the only things he's ever done for us are blow up a plane, destroy half a town (taking out a whole street in the process) and kill 270 people.
But Downing Street's protests notwithstanding, Al-Jolson might soon be heading home to the shores of Tripoli, courtesy of the nearest thing Tony Blair can muster to a last-night-in-the-White-House presidential pardon.
Just thinking about it makes one feel proud to be British.
