Foreign Criminal Of The Day - Another One Out

The BBC does not record the precise chain of events which concluded in Jamaican Neville Borland (pictured) stabbing Marlvin Jiro to death.

His conviction was for manslaughter, not murder; however, the sentence of 10 years and recommendation for deportation indicate his offence was at the graver end of the scale.

Justice Butterfield apparently described Borland as 'a violent, dangerous man' and 'a risk to the public'; which makes one wonder why he was admitted to the United Kingdom in the first place.
