Not having a great deal of experience of Scots Libel Law , is it fair to say that Humpty is appealing to the public and jury ( is there a jury?) for sympathy by ingratiating himself with a popular celeb like Mullan?
Its interesting that during the fireman’s dispute two years ago the slap’n tickle party were key supporters of the Fire Brigades Union ( FBU), now that the FBU is trying to defend it's members from forced participation in cultural /political activities which they object to (in this case a Gay rights March) not a word of support from the left ,(Honourable exception in Fergus Ewing) pretty sad that.

Mullan is an SSP activist, and was part of the mob that invaded th Immigration Service's offices in Govan last November. I don't think his presence is an attempt o court popularity. The case is being heard in front of a civil jury.
A good point about the FBU.
