With those words did Californian model and 'celebrity' Caprice Bourret attempt to entertain the court during a proof in mitigation following upon her conviction for drink driving.

I hate people who drink and drive. I don't think there's anything more selfish -- there's just no excuse for it.
Don't you despise these people who are famous for being famous -- what has this woman done that deserves celebrity status? And now sne'll add to her celebrity and likely her income for having done something which should cost her driver's license and get her thrown in jail.

Drink driving is one of the most basic offences against public policy.
The lady appears to have a medical defence which she is deploying in an attempt to avoid the otherwise mandatory disqualification from holding or obtaining a driving licence. As far as the source of her fame is concerned, I have no thoughts on that one way or the other - although through the good graces of genetics she has been afforded far more opportunities in this country than are available to
many citizens.
