Victor Adedun, a Nigerian, has been sentenced to four years imprisonment for attempting to smuggle 107 packages of cocaine, with a total weight of 1.25 kilos, worth £64,200 into Glasgow Airport - in his stomach.

He might not have realised that with that amount of coke in his gut, his increased girth would render him anonymous - certainly in Glasgow.

Adedun gave himself up after customs officers became suspicious of his claim that he was attending a business conference, and the evidence took, er, two days to recover.

His stated motive for committing the crime was that he needed the money to prop up a failing business. It may not have occurred to him that that's what banks are for.
